Happy 4th of July! Read 4th of July Children's Pictures Books to Children!

Fourth of July Celebration in Centre Square, Philadelphia, 1819
John Lewis Krimmel

Happy 4th of July! I hope you all have a happy and safe 4th of July full of fun, food, and fireworks! Enjoy celebrating America and our wonderful freedom with your family and friends. We are all so blessed to have freedom in this country. May God bless America and all countries in this world!

Don't you love the 4th of July watercolor painting by John Lewis Krimmel!? He was America's first painter of genre scenes.

Do you know there are a lot of 4th of July children's pictures books out there? And there are picture books about the U.S. Constitution as well, perhaps for some older elementary kids, but I think they are great for both young and the young at heart. They all have such beautiful illustrations too. You could even buy one for your child after the 4th too, because it is always important to teach kids about the history of America.

Thank you to all of our soldiers and those who have fought throughout history. May God bless them all!

I love reading all of our Founding Fathers' quotes. And I hope that we remember all they stood for, and I hope future generations remember as well. Here are a few of their wonderfully wise quotes:

"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety". - Ben Franklin

"We have no government armed in power capable of contending in human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other." - John Adams

"The U. S. Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself." - Ben Franklin

"Perfect freedom is as necessary to the health and vigor of commerce as it is to the health and vigor of citizenship." - Patrick Henry

"Educate and inform the whole mass of the people… They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty." - Thomas Jefferson

"Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism. If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter. It will be found an unjust and unwise jealousy to deprive a man of his natural liberty upon the supposition he may abuse it. Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth." - George Washington

"The Constitution is the guide which I never will abandon. The time is near at hand which must determine whether Americans are to be free men or slaves." - George Washington

"Every child in America should be acquainted with his own country. He should read books that furnish him with ideas that will be useful to him in life and practice. As soon as he opens his lips, he should rehearse the history of his own country." - Noah Webster
